Hi!

This is a little page of my experience with Linux.

Over here is a bit on how we got started. It's been really interesting learning about the Linux OS, GNU software and the community. If you want to try Linux, read this and learn how to ask smart questions.

Linux offers a great system for your PC. As well as being more stable and reliable than other options, it is free. That is free as in free speech, not free beer. Read more about why Linux is better.

But Linux isn't for everyone. Because of monopoly practices by a certain software corporation, it is very difficult to buy a new PC with Linux installed. So you have to install Linux yourself. Even though installation is easier than with other systems (like Windows), it still takes some care and ability. Over here, I have listed a few useful commands.

So, if you want a modern, stable and extremely exciting operating system, check out Linux. However, it doesn't hold your hand and requires some attention. To reach the future of computing, be ready to get your hands a little dirty.

I've also discovered some of the philosophy behind open source, free software and GNU. I recommend reading the Cathedral and the Bazaar. And I have jotted down a few notes on why I like Linux.
